VoIPPresence Small Business Edition
Virtual PBX using VoIP

Business VoIP for the Small Enterprise

The use of Voice Over IP for saving call costs is becoming much publicized. However, packages like Skype don't address the needs of the business user and business VoIP systems are still the domain of system suppliers used to charging big money.

VoIPPresence has the answers. The Small Business Edition can provide your business with a working outsourced system set up in a matter of minutes for a low monthly rental. And the cost of UK Landline calls actually works out two-thirds the cost of Skype calls.

Resilience - Fixed and Mobile Networks

A VoIP Phone System uses your broadband connection and either 'softphones' that run on a PC or special networked VoIP phones to make calls. This means that calls between VoIP phones are free and you do not need special telephone equipment.

However, the Internet is notorious for doing surprising things. Since VoIPPresence is a 'virtual' phone system and has also has connections to the fixed and mobile networks, calls can also be delivered to landlines and mobiles. If you get an Internet problem, even half way through an inbound call, VoIPPresence can re-route the call. Saving costs can not be an excuse for losing customers.

Distributed Calls

A VoIPPresence 'extension' can be anywhere in the world and can be any phone - a VoIP phone, a mobile or a landline. They will share common features of your phone system, so you can transfer calls from one to the other, for example, by pressing star followed by a 2 digit extension number.

Calls between VoIP phones are free, even if they are in different countries so VoIP presence is ideal for companies with people on the move, distributed workforces or homeworkers.

VoIPPresence comes with an inbound number which can be on a variety of tariffs from Freephone to 10p a minute revenue generating, and each user is allocated their own personal Direct Dial number.

Phone System Features

Proper handling of inbound calls is an essential part of most business requirements. VoIPPresence can greet callers, offer them the option to select departments or individuals and route them to a group of extensions.

A sophisticated VoiceMail system is included which can forward messages from callers which are unanswered or outside hours to appropriate staff via email, or alert them with text messages.

The VoIPPresence Small Business Edition Feature Guide gives a comprehensive list of features with descriptions.

Total Control

The System Administrator can log on to the VoIPPresence Administration Web site and control how inbound calls are handled, including who is logged into which group, what happens automatically at different times of day, etc. Reports on inbound and outbound calls are also available on line.

In addition, each user has their own log in account in order to change critical information such as which phone they are currently logged in on, and to listen to voicemail messages.

For users on the move, logging in and out and voicemail may also be accessed by dialing into the system from a mobile.

Although VoIPPresence is a hosted system, you have more control over how calls are handled than you do on many stand-alone phone systems.

Free X-on softphone runs on a PC

VoIP Phones

Each VoIPPresence user can download a free X-on softphone. This runs on a PC and enables you to make and take calls on the VoIPPresence system.

For ease of use, a headset or USB handset should be used with the phone, depending whether the user is an occassional or call-centre style user.

For users preferring a more traditional phone, devices such as the Grandstream 101 can be used - these look exactly like a standard phone, but plug into the computer network and behave like a VoIP phone.

Alternatively, you can use a normal telephone but get the benefit of VoIP using an adaptor such as the Grandstream Handytone ATA-486.

Our support team is on hand to assist with configuring softphones or choosing a handset.

Flexible and Expandable

VoIPPresence is part of a family of products based around the same structure. Customers range from the single owner business working from home, up to outsourced call centres sharing traffic across a number of locations and countries.

By choosing X-on and VoIPPresence for your inbound and outbound call handling, you are assured of a stable upgrade path as your business grows, and with no startling upgrade fees to take you to the next level.
